This paper presents studies aimed at studying the geological characteristics of the sands of the Shoktashskoye field located in the southern region of the country. These sands are one of the main sources of building materials in the area. Referring to the quaternary deposits, the deposit mainly includes Alluvial and Aeolian formations. The predominant type is medium – grained sand with a particle size of 0,63–2,5 mm, which meets the requirements of standards for use in mortars and concretes. However, it should be borne in mind that the extraction and processing of sand can cause negative environmental consequences, affecting the environment and public health. Despite the widespread availability of sand resources, excessive extraction can lead to a local shortage of this material, which makes the issue of rational use and replenishment of reserves relevant.
